Problem statement

The company wanted to:
  • initiate a CSR approach by engaging its employees on this subject
  • raise their awareness of social and environmental issues
  • gather their perceptions and ideas regarding the company's involvement in these areas

Context

The client, an industrial company with nearly 200 employees, was at a turning point where taking into account CSR issues was becoming crucial for the evolution of its company culture. The objective was to inform employees about the company’s launch into CSR efforts, raise awareness of the associated issues, and involve them from the initial stages of the process. The company lacked a concrete starting point to integrate CSR into the daily lives of its employees and its overall strategy.

Key Figures

  • 187 employees engaged in the experience
  • 85% participation rate
  • 3 weeks of experience integrated into daily life
  • Over 90% of the videos addressing CSR in all its forms, considered as the final output of the experience, have been produced

Provided Solution

The FeelGoodFellows team set up the "Introduction to CSR" experience, a 3-week program in the form of a team competition. This program allowed participants to create, in a fun and gamified way, a wall of videos on themes related to CSR. These videos addressed both the general issues of CSR and the specificities of its various components: environment, social, ethics, governance, etc.
Employees were also able to express their feelings about the current situation of the company, describe the actions they are taking or could take personally, and suggest areas for improvement for the company’s future commitments. The videos and content produced not only served as a basis to define concrete actions but also allowed the company to use them in its internal and external communications.

Results

At the end of the three weeks, 85% of employees actively participated in the experience. More than 90% of the planned videos were produced, representing a rich basis of ideas, proposals, and feelings about CSR within the company. The produced videos will serve as a leverage for internal communication and contribute to defining a concrete action plan for CSR. Feedback from employees revealed that they are now much more aware of CSR issues and that the approach is perceived as an integral part of their daily lives. They expressed a strong desire for engagement, both at the individual and company levels, and would like concrete actions to be implemented to strengthen this sustainable commitment.

Key Learnings

  • Involve from the start: Involving employees from the initial stages of a CSR approach is essential to foster their long-term engagement.
  • Awareness and active participation: The creation of content (videos) allowed employees to better grasp CSR issues and move from theory to concrete action.
  • Gather valuable data: Feedback and perceptions from employees, collected throughout the experience, provided the company with a complete overview of expectations and ideas concerning CSR.
  • Using videos as a communication lever: The videos created by employees will help disseminate CSR culture in an engaging manner throughout the organization and beyond.

Thanks to this experience, the company now has a solid foundation to develop a more coherent and involving CSR program, supported by participatory communication and concrete actions to come.
