The participants are divided into fixed pairs throughout the tournament. Each game of classic French tarot is played with 4 players (thus 2 pairs facing each other), with a rotation of opponents after each round.
The goal is not only to score points but to play better together, by learning to read your partner, anticipating their moves, and supporting their strategy without direct communication during the game.
👥 Process:
- Creation of the pairs: ideally mixing departments or complementary personalities.
- Explanation of the rules of tarot (possibility of a quick introduction or using a simplified variant).
-
Start of the tournament:
- At each table: 2 pairs face each other (4 players per table).
- At the end of each round, the points of the pair are recorded.
- Rotation: the pairs change tables and face other duos in each round.
-
Final ranking based on the accumulated score of each pair.
💡 Variants and adjustments:
- 🎭 Secret pairs: at the beginning, roles are drawn at random and players do not immediately know who their partner is (revealed halfway through).
- 🧠 Sync challenge: between two rounds, mini “duo” challenges are proposed (e.g., pair mime, duo quiz).
- 🕹️ Digital version: if remote, the possibility to play with an app or an online tarot site + video call.
Tarot is a game that is both friendly, deep, and accessible. In a tournament, it becomes a playful pretext for interaction between colleagues. By mixing individual strategy and collective success, it encourages thinking “team” in a fun and stimulating environment.
