Mine Field

Set up a series of obstacles, indoors or outdoors.

Ask the group to pair off - one person is blindfolded and must traverse the "minefield" by listening to their partner. The partner verbally guides the blindfolded person but cannot enter the minefield. If the person hits a "mine", they must return to the starting point. After everyone has gone through, switch roles.

At the end of the game, discuss what they have learned about communication and trust. What communication was helpful and what wasn't? Was it easy to trust their guide? ...

This game is interesting for team building because it highlights the importance of effective communication and mutual trust in teamwork. Participants learn to listen carefully to their partner's instructions and trust them to guide them through obstacles. This strengthens communication skills, collaboration, and trust within the group. Additionally, by discussing the experiences and emotions felt during the game, participants can develop a better understanding of the challenges and successes related to communication and trust in a team context.
