This game aims to practice and demonstrate the importance of positive and appreciative feedback. Participants are arranged in two rows of chairs, facing each other, closely spaced. If the number of participants is odd, an additional chair is placed at the front for the imaginary bus driver.
The facilitator introduces the activity by explaining that it involves a simulated bus ride where participants interact positively with their neighbors. Each participant is invited to sit down, with their knees almost touching those of the person opposite them, to foster intimacy and attentive listening. One row starts giving positive feedback to the opposite row within a 45-second time limit, using phrases like :
- "What I appreciate about you is..."
- "I feel happy when you..."
After a signal, the roles switch, and the second row takes their turn.
The game continues with periodic rotations of participants, ensuring everyone has the chance to both give and receive positive feedback. After several rounds, a debriefing discussion allows participants to reflect on the impact of this type of feedback on the group's energy and explore how they can incorporate more positive feedback into their daily lives, whether within the group, the organization, or even their families.
This game is particularly interesting at the end of a team building session because it not only encourages positive and constructive communication but also strengthens group cohesion. By allowing everyone to receive positive feedback from their peers, it fosters an atmosphere of trust and mutual support within the team. Additionally, the debriefing discussions provide a valuable opportunity for participants to explore how they can apply the principles of positive feedback in their professional and personal environments, thereby enhancing interpersonal relationships and collective motivation.
